All I want for Christmas is gold and red :-)

Still being in the theme of Christmas, I decided to use some traditional colours and so I chose the two kinds of gold and a beautiful, velvety rasberry red.

And again I used the two plates (born pretty for the snowflakes and a copy of the born pretty plate for the other print).

I used the black stamping polish in order to make the stamps. It matches the gold and the red quite well.

snowflakes in ombre

This year is my first Christmas with my little daughter, so I paid a lot of attention to my outfit and  nails :-)
I wore a  white dress for our Christmas dinner, so I wanted my nails to be as subtle and delicate as the dress itself.

I used lots of colours in order to prepare a nice ombre effect. But first I painted all my nails with the sally hansen's white polish.

I used the snowflakes from the born pretty plate.

I didn't feel like having only the snowflakes so I chose a print from another plate (a copy of born pretty).
The other idea that I had was to use a bit of a glittery polish on one of the fingers to have a bit of a sparkle on the nail. I chose to polish it with the SH gem crush called Blingtastic (I have most of the colours in this series - they're fabulous!!!)

It took a while to prepare this mani, but I love the effect. It's a pity that I get bored with the design and colour of each of my nail art so quickly - I just had it for two days, but in a way I already miss it :-)

Rudolph the red nosed reindeer

Christmas, christmas, christmas... It has to be seen on nails as well :-)
Thereforest this time I decided to paint something instead of using the stamping sets. I saw a sweet red nosed reindeer somewhere on the internet, surrounded by snow, so I decided to use the same theme. On each hand just one nail is painted with an image of the reindeer - the rest is simply decorated using a dotting tool.

I used 4 different colours of polish - the two  - are sally hansens's nailgrowth miracle (white and stunning scarlet), I also used the 1 coat by wibo (nr 12) to paint the reindeer, and a bit of the black stamping polish in order to paint the reindeer's eyes.

clouds in blue

This time I chose something in blue -I really appreciate all the shades of blue this winter. They go well with all sorts of colours. I polished my nails with sally hansen's Revobluetion and I lilac you. I wanted something fresh so I decided on the plate with clouds.

I used two coats of each polish - one would also be fine as the colours are really bright and they cover the nails quite well.

The Sally Hansen polish is a great choice for stamping - the print is clear, as you can see below

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!!!

p.s. that's some piece of art made by my mom :-) I find it sooo pretty that I decided to present it here :-)

elegant mani

Today I finally had the chance to make some elegant mani for my mum. We had only 10 minutes so it had to be totally simple.
And so I decided to use the one coat manicure polish by wibo (as it really is a 1coat polish) in a very deep elegant colour. The stamping was done with regular stamping polish. And again I used the HEHE 004 plate (I'm beginning to think it is my favourite). On top, as usual, came the SH insta dri.

I like the colours, do you?:-)

pastel+neon+mermaid effect= soooo sweet :-)

Hi :-) I've missed the pastel pink nails with a hint of neon and the mermaid effect. And so I decided to use the three with stamping, of course :-)

As a base polish I used a colourful nail conditioner salon effect 6 in 1 by eveline cosmetics. I love its "clean" colour and I do hope that the regenerating complex will really effectively rebuild my nails, as after experimenting with soooo many products for nail art, they tend to be cracking and splitting at the moment :-( The second colour is the "525" by vipera. As always, I used the insta dri SH as a top coat. The mermaid effect that I chose was the one by INDIGO. I must admit that I tried several others, but the effect isn't even a bit satisfactory.

I chose the HEHE 004 plate.

I put two coats of the nail conditioner, then when the polish was nearly dry but still a bit sticky I applied the mermaid effect. Remember that it has to be applied very delicately, smoothing it several times (I smooth it with my finger - that works best fo me :-)).

And now a bit of stamping :-)

The neon colour is very discreet when used on that stamping plate, but it is a good match with the pastel pink.

So what's the feedback? :-)

in search of the perfect nude

I entitled this post "in search of the perfect nude" due to the fact that I have travelled miles and miles (on different sites) hoping to find a colour in the shade of nude which would match my complexion. Unfortunately I still haven't found THE ONE, but I found something which is in the, let's say, "nude family" that is quite interesting. It's a polish by WIBO called 1coat manicure nr 16. It's a bit of a powdery, vintage pink and goes extremely well with black. Another advantage is the fact that indeed it is a 1 coat polish (which amazed me considering its very low price). So I polished 8fingers with it and two with another interesting product - the manhattan limited edition matte sugar finish 2 "give me sparkle".

I used a simple stamping polish in black to use on my nails in nude. I used the m72 plate bought on some site.

And here's the final effect:

blue, baby blue and a butterfly

Hi :-)
I really miss Spring these days, and so I decided to present a mani which is as delicate, as sweet and as fresh as a Spring morning ;-)

I chose the following colours of polish: a holographic one by AllePaznokcie, a Sally Hansen complete salon manicure called the sky's the limit and one by  Rimmel called breakfast in bed. I also used SH Insta Dri obviously as a top coat but also as a base for my sticker on a piece of foil (I tried other kinds of nail polish for that but it was far too time-consuming for me, so I guess I'll just stick to the insta dri as long as it works so well :-))

The plate which I decided to use was HEHE 004.

I polished 6 of my nails with the holographic one and the four with the one by rimmel (for both I used two coats). In the meantime I polished the needed area on my piece of foil with the SH insta dri. And I waited for about 10mins for them to dry. Then I stamped my chosen butterfly :-)

I waited for another 10minutes and peeled the sticker off. Very gently, using scissors, I cut the butterfly in half. Then I just pressed one half of the butterfly onto one baby blue nail and next the other half onto the next nail :-)

That was another very simple and rather quick mani, but I suppose the effect is very pleasant :-) it is surely to me :-) :-)

simple and quick manicure

And now a quick mani for those who lack the time.

i used a black polish from Sephora for two nails and the Seche nail lacquer 69208 Porcelain II for the rest. When it was completely dry I stuck pieces of a black striping tape on each white nail. I didn't really care about the direction of each piece being stuck - the effect was supposed to be a bit of a surprise ;-)

Afterwards I trimmed the pieces of the tape which hung out of the nail with a nail file. Then I added a coat of sally hansen insta dri top coat... et voila :-)
